Syn. 'Preston _ 20-14-114'

Raised by Isabel Preston in 1928 at the Central Experimental Farm at Ottawa, Canada, and nominated by her to be one of the type for the hybrid S. villosa x S. komorowii ssp. reflexa. Name was registered in 1953.

'Isabella' is a vigorous shrub with enormous dark green leaves bearing large clusters of single pink-lavender flowers with minimal fragrance in late season.

It is expected to grow into a largish non-suckering shrub or small tree 3-4 m high and not much less as wide, and is best developed as a tree.
