Syringa x persica

Syn. 'Persian Lilac'

Originally classified as a seperate species but since relegated to that of a hybrid of S. protolaciniata with which it shares growth characteristics. However leaves are entire, unlike the parent's.

It is a small leafed semi dwarf cultivar maturing to a rounded shrub of 1.5 m sporting very fragrant pale pink/lavender flowers along slender stems on terminal as well as on axillary buds early in season. Has demonstrated no inclination to sucker.
