Syringa x hyacinthiflora Lavender Lady

Syn. 'Monis'

Bred by Lammerts in 1954 to suit the warmer Southern California climate, but information on parentage is incomplete. It has at various times been classified as S. vulgaris as well as S. vulgaris x S. (proto)laciniata). Name was registered in 1963.

Bears large clusters of very fragrant lavender single flowers with reflexed petals early in season.

Typical of the hybrid it grows into a largish suckering shrub 3 x 2m.
