Syringa josikaea

Syn: Hungarian Lilac

Bears blue-violet single florets late season with no fragrance worth mentioning - appears to be tolerant of shaded conditions. It is a trouble free plant that is widely used for hedging in Europe.

Although reported to grow to 5 m in its natural habitat, experience of cultivated plants indicate they may not exceed 2 m in height. Has not demonstrated any tendency to sucker locally.
