Lottah Nursery Tasmania, Australia

Syringa x Bailbelle

Syn. 'Tinkerbelle'™

Bred by Neil Holland of Sheyenne Gardens, North Dakota, this hybrid of S. meyeri 'Palibin' x S. pubescens ssp. microphylla 'Superba' was released by Bailey Nurseries in 1999.

It is a semi dwarf small-leafed cultivar maturing to a rounded shrub of 1.5 m sporting wine colored buds opening into fragrant pink flowers rather late in season. This is followed by a secondary flowering in late Summer. Has shown no susceptibility to blight at the nursery over several years.

Given its parentage minor suckering may be expected but we have not found this cultivar to be invasive.
