Syringa vulgaris Agincourt Beauty

Raised by the Canadian L. Slater from a cross of 'Frank Paterson' with 'Dr. Brethour', with the name registered in 1971.

Florets are large, single, sporting violet/deep purple petals with contrasting creamy stamens. Medium fragrance

Typical of the species it is expected to grow into a largish suckering shrub 3 x 2m.

Slater does not appear to have made many lilac introductions; however his 'Agincourt Beauty' as well as the single white 'Slater's Elegance' are outstanding.
